"Four Sites In Four Days"

Crystal Peak

PAGE 5

Chuck (N6BLA), proud father of the Crystal Peak repeater takes a moment to pose with the new repeater before it gets installed in the building.

A picture of the repeater rack situated in the building so that we can easily do a complete Calnet tuning procedure before the rack is installed permanently.

Gerry (KB6OOC) and Mark (WA6KBP) pose with the new Crystal Peak repeater while making some last minute adjustments. (Notice the Dr Pepper in Gerry's hand? Dr Pepper is a must up on a hilltop site! It makes you think better!

This is what it looks like when we run through the "Tuning  Procedure". Test equipment and tools everywhere!  IFR, Scope, Laptop, Manuals, HTs, Toolbox, cables and adapters.

Meanwhile, outside the tower crew works on installing the antennas for the repeater and link. (From left to right) Jim (WB9GVF), Howard (N6HM-Site Owner) and Chuck (N6BLA), not sure who that is on the ground.

Note: Howard (N6HM) the site owner helped with the antenna install outside. How many times have you ever seen that? The site owner help with the install? Howard is a super guy! I am glad that we had a chance to meet him. Also, a special thanks to Jim (WB9GVF) who was up on the tower by himself for four hours and not only installed our UHF 440 antenna, but also a 220 antenna for another system. When you hear Jim (WB9GVF) on the air tell him thanks!

Jim (WB9GVF) working on the tower. Notice the tall white 22 foot station master antenna behind the microwave dish? He installed that one too!
